International Photography Exhibition 2012, Ohio State University

I submitted some of my photographs for the International Photography Exhibition organized by Office of International Affairs at my university. There were three photographs submitted under: Place, People and Transportation category. I love all the photographs, they remind me of the amazing time I had during my trip in 2012. The caption of the photographs brings back some fond memories that I'll cherish for life and reminds me how well I connected with all the things I came across :)

The Taj RaazBuilt in the mid 1600s by a Mughal emperor Shah Jahan in the memory of his loving wife, Taj Mahal, reveals its subtleties when one visits it without being in a hurry. While the famous white marble dome flanked perfectly by four tapering minarets persists to be focus of lens’ attention, the closer you come to the monument the more you are bound to appreciate the intricacies in the creation. This photograph is a section of one of the minarets, which has the holy Quran inscribed on it. On running my fingers over one of the most beautiful calligraphies I’ve ever seen I stood awe-inspired, wondering over the eternity of the art that has withstood the weather of over 400 years.

Something's in the way you smileI spent six months in the central Himalayas in India collecting data for my research. This photograph is the representation of the mountain people I lived and worked with-their smiling faces kept me warm in the cold winters.

Hail a cab If you’re new in London, the cabs surely will catch your attention. I took this photograph while standing outside of the tube station and smiled with a sense excitement on reading the sign-‘London’s Calling’!

P.S. My friend Eli helped me with the pictures and made them look beautiful. Thanks Eli! :)
